Anyway, yesterday I did something I’ve been wanting to do for a while, I ran home from work, my first ever “run-commute”. I took the bus in the morning so I didn’t have to leave my car there overnight. I packed a bag with my running clothes and gear, changed after work, locked a bunch of stuff in my desk and headed out with just my garmin gps watch and camelback backpack where I stashed my necessities from my purse and then ran the 6.5 miles home. Technically, I only ran 6 because I walked the first half. 🙂

Total Distance – 6.0 miles
Time – 1:05
Pace – 10:53/mile

It was a lot easier than I thought and my run went by really quick, despite the walking I did when my legs felt like lead, which was most of the run. It was nice because I didn’t have to worry about fitting in another workout, I was already done and could get ready for the evening’s festivities!

I got home from my run, took a shower and then headed out with Chris and our friends for dinner at the Beer Hall. It was my first time trying their actual food since going there almost a year ago for their Harvest Festival. {PS: Is this happening again? Because I would totally go!}

I got the house-made veggie burger, which was good. It was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, which is something I like in a veggie burger. The bun was also toasted!

I was also a fan of the fries here…they were delicious!

And I ended my meal with the ice cream sandwich, which I had once before when it was first introduced at the Harvest Party last fall. Still as good as I remember, too! Oatmeal cookies with apple cider ice cream, which just screams fall…it makes me excited for the season to change soon!

    That’s awesome! I’ve always dreamt of run commuting but have made up tons of excuses or otherwise chickened out. Your method (bus there, stash other things in office, just essentials in a Camelbak) sounds much more do-able than I originally thought. Maybe I’ll psych myself up for a run commute soon 🙂
