Pre-Race Jitters

Today I have been a bundle of energy in preparation for tomorrow’s big race!! I couldn’t even sleep in this morning, which I wanted to do so badly! I got up at 6:30 am and cleaned my room! Ha! I definitely have a case of the pre-race jitters. And then I had breakfast, raw oats + chobani yogurt + dried berries.

I love these. They go perfect in oatmeal and yogurt messes!

Yum! However, it hardly held me over through yoga this morning! I took another free class at the Breathing Room this morning, and this time it was jam packed with people! It was great. I really need to make Saturday morning yoga part of my routine.

A couple of my lovely coworkers, Katie and Sarah, came to yoga also, and afterward we went to the Perfect Blend for some food, since we were all pretty hungry. 10:30 is not too early for lunch, is it?

I ordered a roasted vegetable quesadilla with hummus. The hummus actually came inside the quesadilla, which actually was a great addition. The roasted veggies were awesome and the cheese was all melty and delicious. It kept me full until 5:00!!

So good! I am definitely going back there for this!

I also had a bite of my friend’s pumpkin cake

Yeah, I have a thing for cream cheese frosting!

After lunch, the girls and I parted ways and I headed over to Chris’ to pick him up, since we had plans to go to the Race Expo to get my race packet! The expo was really small. There weren’t many interesting booths. πŸ™

At least I got my bib! (AND my 13.1 bumper sticker!)

I’m so excited. I actually ran into Katie at the expo too. The race will be her first half as well! Go girl! πŸ™‚

So today has been pretty low key since then. Chris and I watched “Where the Wild Things Are”, and then I came home and did some baking! I made Allie’s Pumpkin Pecan Blondies, with a few substitutions. I used 1 and 1/2 cup of whole wheat pastry flour instead of regular flour, and 1/2 cup of unsweetened apple sauce instead of canola oil. Oh, and they are vegan! They came out excellent! My pan was a bit big though, so they were really thin, but that might be a good thing!

Dinner was some soup + crackers. I had some leftover V8 Vegetable Blend soup in the fridge, and I added about 1/2 cup of leftover corn to it, and it became really filling!

I know the bowl isn’t pretty, but I didn’t want to dirty another dish! It’s great for micro-waving! I also may have had a few pumpkin bars for dessert…or should I say, fuel for tomorrow? πŸ˜‰

Anyway, now I’m just relaxing and getting stuff ready for tomorrow. I’m so excited, I hope I can get a good night’s sleep! The next post I write will be my half marathon race recap! πŸ™‚
