Looking Forward to Warm Weather
Spring is slowly arriving in Albany…it’s still kind of chilly in the AM, but yesterday I managed to get in some before-work miles, something I haven’t done since around September!
Warmer weather has me yearning to get out and do more fun things and makes me want to travel more…here’s what I’m looking forward to this spring and summer…
Bike rides. On Monday I went to EMS to check out their bike selection. I found one on sale on their website that was in my budget, and I had to go see if they had it! They didn’t have the model in stock, but thankfully the helpful girl working hunted it down and its getting shipped to Albany from a store in Massachusetts! The Bike tech there will put together and customize it to fit me–and I can’t wait to get it! I’ve been wanting a new bicycle for the past few years but never really got motivated to look for one. It’s a Marin Hybrid bike. I really don’t know anything about the brand, but the girl at the store said it was a good bike. I’m really looking forward to long bike rides this spring and summer.
More races. Today I signed up for the Workforce Challenge, a 3.5 mile race I run on a team with all my co-workers. Three years ago I ran my first one and it was the first race I ever re-capped on this blog.

Memorial Day weekend, of course, is my marathon weekend! I’ll be taking a trip to Burlington, Vermont with my friend Loretta, who is running the relay. It should be a fun weekend.
I signed up for the Boilermaker again this July, so I’ll be running that sweltering 15K in Utica with 14,000 of my fellow runners.
Traveling! Chris and I are planning another trip to Pittsburgh at the end of June. I can hardly wait!
We also have a camping trip planned for August with his family, which I’m really excited about. I think we’re going to be hiking and camping in the Adirondacks, in the Lake Placid area. I cannot wait!
I am so excited for summer and warm weather!
What are you looking forward to this summer?

a few people have asked that–i would think about it, but i’m not really sure how much i really am interested in tris. maybe a race where you bike and run, but i’m not that great of a swimmer plus i hate swimming in lakes, so i dunno if i’d like a tri that much, LOL.

Ah, here’s where I am now jealous of you! I love NY so so so much in the late spring and summer. Which reminds me, I’ll be in NY for at least a month in the summer, so I am definitely going to need to take a trip out to visit you girls!
