HMRRC Winter Series #4 – 15K

Another winter series race in the books! Today was #4 of this season. I had no goals for this race since I felt pretty crappy during most of my runs this week but wanted to treat this race as a long run to get the miles in.

The weather was okay…40 degrees but 20 mph winds! Thankfully they didn’t feel too bad! It did sprinkle at the start a bit but after the first mile I warmed up!

I felt really great during the race and managed to hold a 9:45/mile pace for the whole time…and no walking! What is it with these winter series races??

Race stats
Total miles: 9.3
Total time: 1:30:36
Average pace: 9:43/ mile

After the race I was completely beat…my legs felt more like I ran 20 miles rather than 9. But I managed to make it to brunch at The City Beer Hall! Chris and I had a living social deal to use for brunch and today was the day.

Time for a mimosa!

I ordered the goat cheese, spinach and tomatoes omelet that came with a teeny fig salad and delicious home fries.

It was a really filling and tasty omelet! And brunch came with one drink each too so that was awesome. Everything was great! I enjoyed it.

I spent the remainder of the day on the couch…my legs are really sore from the race…even my knee, which I’m kind of worried about. Lets hope it’s nothing because I can’t deal with another injury!
