First Time Foam Rolling

So, my blog was down all of today, so I’m just getting around to posting something! Happy Friday everyone! I don’t know about you but my day went by sooo slow. It feels great to be home and relaxing a little bit.

So, here is my breakfast from yesterday, since it was really tasty.

More of Van’s mini waffles! This time, with blueberries + strawberries! Yum.

A nice fresh mixed berry breakfast. I love these waffles.

So, disaster struck at the gym last night. I was all ready to run my five mile tempo run. I get to the gym and while changing into my gym clothes, my sportsbra strap snapped and broke! I drove to the gym for nothing! Ah well, what can you do…I just ended up going home and running the five miles on my treadmill in my basement instead of at the gym. Not too bad. I finished the five miles in 52:17. Sorry if that was TMI…but I thought it was kind of funny. ๐Ÿ˜‰

After my run last night I made dinner and can’t remember for the life of me what I had. All I know is that I didn’t take any pictures of it. ๐Ÿ˜‰ But I did have dessert. Some Manna Bread! This is the cinnamon date bread, with some TJ’s sunflower seed butter. I really like Manna bread. It’s moist and chewy, and the cinnamon flavor is really nice. It was great with the sunflower seed butter.

I realize I have horrible light in my kitchen. Blah.

So, tonight I finally ventured into the realm of Foam Rolling. In case you are unfamiliar, a foam roller looks sort of like one of those noodle pool toys, but is used to roll out sore muscles (like, after a hard workout or a long run).

I tried a couple of the exercises that came with the roller, because my calves have been really sore lately. I also rolled out my hips, and my IT Band. I found the IT Band stretch was really painful…not sure why.

Anyway…dinner time! I was in the mood for more flatbread pizza. Can’t get enough of this stuff! Flat-Out wraps are so good for these.

I added shrimp this time!

Tasty tasty. And oh so easy.

Since I have my Friday evening free, I decided to try out a new cookie recipe! Lizzy  posted a recipe the other day for peanut butter banana graham cookies. They were super super easy to make. I added chocolate chips, since I can’t bake anything without chocolate.

They were pretty good! They have a different flavor, probably because the only ingredients are peanut butter, banana, graham cracker crumbs, an egg, sugar, and salt. I think there was too much salt though, because it was kind of overpowering. But I’m still going to eat them! ๐Ÿ˜‰

I hope everyone has a great weekend…I’m going to be super busy. I have a seven-miler planned for tomorrow morning and then I’m headed to Saratoga Race Track! It should be a fun day. Lets hope I have a good run in them morning!

    How was your 7-miler? ๐Ÿ™‚

I am new to foam rolling too. And it does really get your IT band! I would love to take a class on it or something. I wonder if I am doing it right (I have watched vids and everything).

Your camera should have setting on it to change the white balance (WB) which will adjust the color correction so it takes more natural looking pictures in different light settings (i.e. if they look too blue or too yellow). There should be settings for daylight/sunny, overcast, incandescent bulbs, fluorescent (long tubes), and flash. Probably hidden somewhere in the menu options.
