Loving: My new falls boots! I got them in black and I couldn’t pass them up because they have a strip of elastic down the side, so my huge calves can actually fit into them. I’ve never been able to wear riding boots before because they would never zip up, but these fit perfect and are super comfortable.

Looking forward to: The end of the semester! I’m not wishing away fall, but I’m looking forward to the month long break. School and working keeps me busy, and I haven’t had any downtime to myself in a while. Downtime that wasn’t exercise. Ha!

Planning: to run the Hairy Gorilla Half Marathon! This race has been on my wishlist for ages but something was always stopping me, whether it was running other races or fear of breaking an ankle. Finally I gave in and registered! It will be my first trail half marathon (the longest I’ve ran on trails is 6 miles, eeek.) but it’s SO MUCH FUN. I ran the six mile version a few years ago with Katie and had a blast (and also fell and twisted an ankle). Gotta be careful this time.

Watching: I’m watching every scary movie on television right now! Actually, not every one, but I’m making a point to watch a lot of the movies on AMC’s fright fest leading up to Halloween. I had been previously afraid of most scary movies, but I enjoy watching the classics. In the past week I’ve watched Child’s Play 3 (facing a fear I’ve had of Chucky since I was a child, this movie is not scary at all, its kind of funny), Nightmare on Elm Street, the Haunting, Paranormal Activity 4, and I’ll be saving Halloween for last! Chris and I are also into the current seasons of Walking Dead and American Horror Story!

Reading: Wild by Cheryl Strayed.

Someone mentioned this book on twitter the other day, which reminded me that I had wanted to read it. I was about to buy it for my Kindle, but then did a quick search to find that I already had it! Wild is about a young woman’s trek across the Pacific Crest Trail. It sounds absolutely crazy, I can’t put it down!

Excited about: Going to the Ahimsa Yoga Festival tomorrow! I won a ticket to this festival the other day, so I’m going down to Windham to check it out! I have been wanting to go to a yoga festival for ages but never wanted to spend the money for a ticket, since they are pretty expensive! I can’t wait to see how it goes. I’m ready to get my zen on!

Wondering: How a yoga festival works…are the classes outside? Because it will be chilly in the Catskills tomorrow! I’m hoping they are in inside!

Awesome boots! I have the same problem as you but just recently found a pair of boots that will work for me. Unfortunately I don’t get them until either my birthday or Christmas as they are going to be presents from my husband, lol.

I love that book! I read it earlier this year, it makes me want to do a crazy hike like that. My husband and I are looking at backpacking trips for next year sometime, I’d like to start small and do the Northville-Lake Placid trail.

I bought the most wonderful pair of boots last December… and kitty barfed on them yesterday. Ruined! I’ve been crying over the loss more than I should- but I FINALLY found a pair that fit me perfectly.

and I’m currently reading Wild too. A couple chapters in and not in love, yet.
