    Mr. Fuji Sushi

The year after I graduated from college, my roommates introduced me to sushi. I was obsessed with eating it! Then I sort of got burnt out and in the past three years I can count on one hand the number of times I’ve had it…and not liking it very much during those times. I think I figured out why…my intense hatred for cucumber, which was inside almost every sushi roll I’ve eaten. Last night my sister and I went to Mr. Fuji for dinner because I had been craving good sushi, a craving that only comes once in a blue moon! After a recommendation from a friend, we decided on…

Wine Tasting in the Hudson Valley

Yesterday was an awesome day! Chris and I drove downstate to the Hudson Valley area to check out some wineries. I bought a few Groupons for wine tastings and we decided to use them up! On the way to the first winery we actually ended up making a quick stop at Harvest Spirits Distillery in Valatie. They make their own vodka and other hard liquors right at the farm, with Hudson Valley Apples. I picked up a bottle of the peach jack! Tastings were $1, but free if you bought something. Chris had the applejack at home, so he didn’t get anything. I can’t wait to make a drink with…

    Evening at Tanglewood

Friday night Chris had the idea to head over to Lenox, Mass. to check out the Boston Symphony Orchestra at Tanglewood. Neither one of us had ever been there, so we figured since it was a beautiful night we’d head over for a picnic on the lawn while listening to music. When we got there we walked around the grounds for a few minutes…at Tanglewood there is a gorgeous view of the Berkshires! It was opening night and with the student discount our tickets were $10 each! You can’t beat that.  We bought our tickets at the gate. The great thing about Tanglewood is that they allow you to bring…

    My 27th Birthday Roadtrip

Yesterday was my 27th Birthday! Holy crap. I spent the most of the day (eight hours) in the car, driving to Pittsburgh with Chris. It actually wasn’t that bad! It went by fairly quick. Pretty, no? Anyway, we got in town at around 5:30 and decided to go for a walk around Chris’ parents neighborhood to stretch our legs. We ended up stopping at a place for a birthday treat! The Cake and Cookie Spot had just opened recently and they had cute little cake shots! It was something I’ve never seen before so Chris and I got three to share. Chris got Oreo, I got the peanut butter cup,…

    Date Night at My Linh

Usually Saturdays are “date days” for Chris and I. Last weekend we went to All Good Bakers for a lunch date, and then this past Saturday we went to the movies at the Spectrum (we saw The Descendents, very good!) followed by dinner. We tossed around the idea of going next door to New World Bistro, but were turned away at 5:30 pm because they were no seats for 2 until 9:30pm. We should have known better, but just wanted to check for the heck of it. Enter My Linh, the Vietnamese restaurant that we never think to go to, only a few steps away from the Spectrum on Delaware…
