I am a Warrior!
I can say I successfully completed the 2010 Warrior Dash NorthEast today. 🙂 Holy crap, it was incredible, and unlike anything I’ve ever done in my entire life! It is safe to say that this might be one of the craziest days of my life! Chris and I got there at around 11:30, since our wave started at 1:00, and we wanted to have enough time to check it out, and check our bags, and pick up our packets. Thank goodness we did! The Before Photo The race was held at Windham Mountain Ski Resort, so needless to say, the first half of the 3.25 miles was completely UP HILL.…

Chingachgook Challenge 10K
Phew, I’m finally home to blog about my awesome Saturday! Chris and I ran the Chingachgook Challenge 10K in Lake George today, and it was really awesome. But I’ll get to the race re-cap in a minute. Let me rewind to Friday night. Chris and I were in the mood for pizza last night, so we headed over to Inferno Pizza in Colonie. One of the reasons we wanted to go there is because they have outdoor dining and it was a perfect summer evening. Great for outside eating! 😉 We each ordered a drink, I got a glass of Relax Riesling. Drinking wine was probably not the best idea…

Impulse Obstacle Course
So, I just signed up for the Warrior Dash on a whim. I had been thinking about it for a while, but the expensive price of registration has been putting me off (and maybe the scary obstacles?) until today. A couple of my friends are doing it so I signed up for it on an impulse. Hey, an obstacle course race is one of my “bucket list” items, so why not do it and get it over with? 😉 The Warrior Dash is described as: “the ultimate event for thrill-seeking athletes. This running series is held on some of the nation’s most demanding and unique terrain. Participants will conquer extreme…

2010 Boilermaker 15K
Wow, I’m finally home, showered, and extremely exhausted! But I feel amazing. 🙂 Today I accomplished one of the greatest things in my life…running in and completing my first 15K road race! The Utica Boilermaker! As of today, 9.3 (9.5?) miles is officially the furthest distance I’ve run at one time. And I’m so proud of myself and how far I’ve come. Less than two years ago I was overweight and out of shape and never would have in a million years thought I would be running in a 9.3 mile race. This just goes to show that you can do anything, if you put your mind to it. I’m…
