Brookview Station Wine Tasting
Saturday after meeting up with my Ragnar Team and screen printing our team shirts, Loretta and I drove over to Schodack to visit Brookview Station Winery, located in Goold Orchards. I had a Groupon for the tasting that was about to expire so we wanted to check it out.
The tasting room is located right in the main store at the back of the room. I had never been to Goold that I can remember, but it was like your standard little country store on an orchard! There was only one other group of people tasting wine, but I imagine that this place gets packed during prime apple picking season!
We had 12 wines to choose from, but we could only pick six to taste. We split them evenly so we could try them all!
They also provided a small cheese platter, complete with local cheeses, and a delicious cheese/fruit spread made with local jam. So good!
Onto the tasting! All the wines I tried were very good, I was impressed! Brookview gets all their grapes from places in NYS so it was good to see they actually used NY grapes! However, my favorite had to be the pear wine.
I actually bought a bottle at the end, I loved it so much! Its called “Oh What a Pear” white.
Afterward I couldn’t help myself but get a cider donut! I know they are “out of season” and the orchard only makes them on Saturdays. I just couldn’t hold out until the fall!
