Blueberry Mountain

Bright and early Saturday morning Chris and I drove up to the Adirondacks for some camping & hiking adventures! We were planning on doing another high peak, but Friday I pulled a muscle in my back so I didn’t want to risk hiking with back pain, so we opted to do a shorter, less strenuous hike! Enter Blueberry Mountain!

We parked in the Marcy Field parking lot on Route 73 in Keene Valley.

The hike up took maybe a little over an hour and 30 minutes. Thankfully my back held up and the pain went away when I started hiking, hurray!

Since it was so early there were no other hikers on the trail yet, so it was nice and quiet! We did pass a few on the way down, though.

Not a high peak, but we could definitely see them from the top!

We got an early start, so we were done hiking by noon. Just in time for lunch in Lake Placid! We stopped at the Pub & Brewery. I was happy to see they had bottles of Ubu pumpkin.

It was quite tasty.

For lunch Chris and I split appetizers, the hummus plate and goat cheese spread.

And I also got the veggie wrap, but apparently didn’t photograph it. Oh well.

The rest of the day was spent walking around Lake Placid village and setting up our campsite. We stayed at Wilmington Notch. We got up around 8:30 on Sunday, packed up and headed home.

I hate leaving the mountains! But never fear, I’ll be back in three weeks for the Ragnar Relay Adirondacks… I can’t wait!
