Albany Pine Bush Trail Run

The weather last night was pretty nice (60 degrees!), so my friend Laura and I decided to go for a run together. We decided on the Pine Bush Preserve. The area we went to was by the Rensselaer Lake. There are tons of trails and there even a little pond for fishing. There is another portion of the Pine Bush a few minutes away, which we want to try running at next time.

We ran a 3.1 mile loop around the Preserve. I had only been there once about five years ago, so it was nice to try some new running trails in the area. There weren’t many runners or walkers on the trails, just mostly people fishing by lake.

I’m glad Laura was with me because it would have been very creepy running through here alone. (And not safe, either!)

When I got home I noticed a spot on my shoe–blood! There was a hole in my sock and a blister rubbed through to my shoe, ouch. That has never happened before! My poor Smartwool socks now have a huge hole in them.

Running at the Pine Bush got me really excited about the upcoming trail running season. Before I know it I’ll be running the ARE trail run series!
