A Manatee Sighting

The drive out of Key West is pretty awesome. One of the bridges connecting some of the keys is called the Seven Mile Bridge. There are places to pull over and look at the water and we did just that while we were on our way to Miami.

While we were admiring the view, one of the other people there asked if we had seen the manatees. Finally! Manatees in real life in the wild!

It doesn’t look like much but I swear its a manatee! Anyway, there were two of them swimming around and they came up for air about every five minutes. It was an awesome sight! They come up so quickly it was hard to get a picture.

So, stopping on the bridge was so worth it!

I’m already thinking I should plan my next trip to Key West.

Anyway, after a three hour drive we arrived in Miami Beach! We stayed in a hotel on Collins Avenue, the main strip in Miami and our hotel was right on the beach.

Chris and I decided to check out the beach and go for a run! We ran up and down the boardwalk which equaled out to 2.0 miles. The boardwalk is awesome!

Yes, that’s a stray cat on the boardwalk. There were lots of them! After our run we went down to the beach and then got ready for dinner…which was definitely an adventure, so stay tuned…
