A Lovely 10
Today was the Second Annual CDNY Eat Drink Blog brunch at Heather’s! Read about last year’s here. I can’t believe it’s been a year since I met these girls! We had a blast at the brunch today, but first, my long run!
I have a half marathon in three weeks! So today called for another long run, 10 miles to be exact. I headed to the Niskayuna Bike Path to get it done.
It was pretty busy when I got there early this morning! But I overheard someone say there was a bike race going on.
Ready, set, run.
It was my first time ever wearing a hat while running, and it was awesome! I look like a dork, though. ๐
I really loved running on this bike bath! You might remember Melissa and I running a wet run here about a month ago. Today was much nicer.
At mile 3.0 there is a pretty big hill (the rest of the trail is all flat), so I decided instead of stopping there and turning around I did a few hill repeats. And the view from the top was great!
At mile 6.7 I went back to my car for some Gu and water. It was getting pretty warm by then.
I ran the last three-ish miles in the opposite direction toward the Colonie Bike Path and then back again. The last mile was tough, but I did it.
Wahoo! I had to get home so I could get ready for the bunch!!!
I got there and Heather’s pancake station was in full swing!
I had three since I was famished after my run, and didn’t have time to refuel at home.
And also, a savvy scone and some quiche.
Definitely carb overload. ๐ But, it was really tasty.
Hanging out with the greatest bloggers is always a good time. ๐ There were way more of us before we finally realized we needed to take a picture, but by then there were only a few of us left.
(thanks Courtney for the photo!)
Well, I am exhausted. Off to veg out on the couch with Chris. ๐ Hope you all are having a great weekend!

I used to live in Latham on Rte 7 very close to the Niskayuna Bike Path – I’d go over there alot after work to XC ski in winter and rollerblade in summer. (I avoided the hills like the plague, not good at stopping on either skis or blades, lol!)

That might have been the tail end of the annual Erie Canal Bike Ride, not a race. 8 or 9 days, biking from Buffalo to Albany. A friend of mine did it, finished up this morning, then met us for lunch.
They have one every year. It sounds like fun, and I’m tempted, but I’m not up to 40 miles of biking every day for a week.
