A Celebratory Lunch

Well, after having time to reflect and look back on yesterday, I still can’t believe I ran a half marathon! Since then I’ve been relaxing and icing my foot. The pain seems to come and go–it hurts mostly when walking around, but not when sitting. If it doesn’t get any better this week, I’m going to go see the podiatrist about it. Lets hope its nothing serious, because I have two races coming up in the next 3-4 weeks that I’ve been really looking forward to running.

A big thanks to everyone’s wonderful comments on my race recap! They all mean so much to me! 🙂

But anyway, since Chris couldn’t make brunch yesterday, he took me out today for lunch. I decided on the Pump Station, since we both really enjoy that restaurant.

Chris ordered a dark stout and I got the blueberry strong ale.

We looked on the wine list–and they actually have some New York wines! I’ll have to remember that when I’m craving dinner out with a glass of wine, since I’m only drinking locally now!

To start we went with the fried calamari, a favorite of ours. It came with a spicy maranara sauce in the bottom of the dish. I’ve never had fried calamari I didn’t like and this was no exception!

I thought about getting the mac and and cheese, but then decided that would be way too heavy, and went with the baked veggie wrap, and a cup of tomato bisque.

The soup was pretty standard tomato soup, very creamy and had good flavor.

This wrap was a great choice–the veggies were fresh, and the wrap itself was amazing. I’m not sure what kind of wrap it was, but it was flaky and doughy, and crispy from the oven. It came with a side of apple balsamic, which was also a great addition.

I only ate about half of the fries + ketchup.

Chris ordered the bison burger with bacon and jalapenos! He said it was great.

Don’t the fries make you want to eat the screen? They were good.

Anyway, after lunch, we went to run some errands, which included grocery shopping and a stop at Target. Chris talked me into trying a new look. What do you think? I thought the hat was pretty cute–and will be warm in the winter!

Well, I’ve had a nice relaxing day off–hope you all had the same!
