2013 Shamrock Run
Sunday Chris and I drove down to Kingston for the Annual Shamrock Run. This race is so funny. There are 5,000 people are running (and walking) down Broadway in Kingston to get to the end where they give out free beer from Keegan Ales, green bagels and shamrock cookies.
This year was so crowded! I realized after running this race multiple times that you can’t run it for time–just for fun. My foot was feeling sore from the previous day’s long run so I took it easy. We finished in under 22 minutes! We wasted no time and went right to the post-race party for beer and green bagels.
My favorite–Keegan Ales’ Mother’s Milk, a milk stout!
We stuck around for a little bit and then walked the two miles back to the car and got to watch the parade go by which is always fun.
Do you run any St. Patty’s themed races? There is a local one which sells out really fast called the Running of the Green, but I have yet to run that one…maybe next year!

That’s a crime that it wasn’t run on St. Patrick’s Day since it’s on a Sunday!! 🙂

I was wondering why I wasn’t held on that day…probably because things would get out of control if was on actual st patty’s day!

The run coincides with Kingston’s St. Patrick’s Day parade, which steps off after the race.
