Exploring Columbia River Gorge

For the next leg of my PNW trip, my sister and I drove from Mount Hood to Columbia River Gorge. We stopped at Multnomah Falls, the Bridge of the Gods, a Sturgeon Fish Hatchery, and then had lunch at Broder Ost in Hood River.

We did have a long drive ahead of us, as we were on our way to our next stop: Mount Rainier in Washington. We drove about halfway to Ashford, Washington, where our air BNB was when we had to turn around and find an alternate route due to road closures. I had wanted to take a scenic route through the Cascades, but the remote roads were closed due to snow, which set us back a few hours. However, we got a great view of what I think is Mount Jackson.
We did get to drive along the Columbia River on the Washington side as well which was very picturesque! We arrived in Ashford right before dark so we could still enjoy the views approaching Mount Rainier.

Again, we lucked out with another perfect Air BNB cabin. This one was a cute A-frame in right outside of Mount Rainier with the most comfortable bed.
We stocked up on food (and beer!) when in Hood River, so we cooked a quick dinner (tacos!) and went to bed. The next morning, we drove into Mount Rainier National Park!
 More to come!

    Hey Jen,

Multnomah Falls are absolutely gorgeous! I visited here in 2010 and they are just spectacular. Thanks for sharing these photos 🙂
