The Next Race
Some may call it an addiction, but every few weeks I get the itch to run a race. The last one I ran was the Frehofer’s Run for Women 5K in the beginning of June, and that kept me satisfied for awhile.
Soon the craving begins and I get really excited for the next starting line.
The next experience shared with friends. (And boyfriends.)
The next crowd cheering you on.
The next finish line.
The next post-race beer.
And the next feeling of accomplishment that never gets old.
Tomorrow Heather, Chris and I will be driving to Utica to run Sunday’s Boilermaker 15K, and I can’t wait to run it again!

PS: I have an article published in the July edition of The Pace Setter, a local running magazine. Check it out! I’m on page 23!

I just started running a year ago and have been running 5K’s and half marathons ever since. I totally understand the need to run a race every few weeks. If you’re looking for a half marathon to run in October, you should check out the Peru Octoberfest Half Marathon in Peru, NY (about 2.25 hours north of you) – http://www.runoctoberfest.com/. It’s the first year it is being offered and it is limited to 500 runners. It looks like it’s going to be a good run. It’s about 20 minutes from where I live, and the course is very rural.
