    Another Year, Another Boilermaker

    Ah, the Boilermaker. A 15K race in Utica that I love to hate. I love this race in theory, but when I’m at mile 6 in 84 degree weather with the hot sun shining down running with 14,000 others and a huge hill to climb, I hate it. But, apparently I forgot those things. I remembered the free beer at the end and the awesome crowd support. I registered for the 2013 race. Just in time too, because it sold out a few hours later.     2011 Boilermaker 15K

    Well, today was a pretty good day! Last night, Heather, Chris and I drove to Utica for the Boilermaker! In case you are unfamiliar, the Boilermaker is a pretty popular 15K road race. 13,000 people were registered to run this year, and it was the first year that they had to cap the registration. We stayed at a Best Western, about 1.5 miles from the race. We got up at 5:00am to park at the race start before they closed the roads.     A Sangria Type of Evening

    Yesterday started out pretty basic. I made a green monster! But instead it looked more like a brown monster with flecks of green. I actually liked it this time! The past couple times I’ve made these tasted pretty bad. In my GM went: 1 cup of spinach 1/2 cup of light soy milk 3 frozen strawberries and 2 slices of frozen papayas 1 extremely ripe banana 1 tsp of almond butter It was refreshing.
