Wright Peak – 7.11.21
After a 2 year hiatus, Brendan and I finally summited a high peak together, Wright Peak! Brendan is almost done with his 46er Journey. He’s hiked almost all 40 of his high peaks with me over the years and on Sunday he hit #40, with Wright. Our original plan was to hike the trio, Algonquin, Iroquois and Wright together, but since it’s been so long since our last big day, we decided to break it up to make it a little easier. Winter Wonderland in the High Peaks – Hiking Phelps 12.8.18
Last week I got an invite from my friend Alicia to hike Phelps with her and our friend Francis. The weather was looking a bit cold, but I decided to join them since it had been a while since I’d hiked and was craving a long outdoor adventure. The Dix Range via Grace Slide – 8.11.18
Back in August I went up to the high peaks for some hiking! I have a few friends that are still working on completing the 46 high peaks, so anytime they invite me on a hike I’d like to re-do I try to make it happen. On this particular Saturday, they were planning on hiking the Dix Range. However they were not taking the traditional route up the Macomb Slide, they were going in via the Grace Slide. Seymour Mountain
With last Monday’s hike up Cliff Mountain, I had three peaks left. Seymour, Esther and Whiteface. Seymour was orphaned in August after hiking most of the Seward Range, so driving the 3+ hours to Saranac Lake had to be done. I was not particularly looking forward to this hike, either. I hope everyone had a great Labor Day Weekend! Mine was fantastic! The past few weeks have been pretty great. I started my Dietetic Internship, did a few other hikes, and this past weekend got together with my closest hiking friends for a weekend in the Adirondacks. Brendan, Jenna, her friend Colleen and I booked a camp site at Rollins Pond in Saranac Lake for two nights. We had the best camp site!
