Cycling Gear

Here is some of the cycling gear I use. (Note: all products are Amazon Affiliate links to my Store–if your happen to purchase any you will help support Jen is Green!) I purchased all of my gear. Most of everything I happened to find on clearance or discount, even my hybrid bike was on sale.

Fuelbelt Fuel Box.

I needed something to keep my food and phone handy. I only have 1 bike jersey with rear pockets and sometimes its dirty when I want to go for a ride, so I needed something where I wasn’t constantly taking my pack off to get to my food. This does the trick. I can fit in my Honey Stingers and my phone, as well as my map! I got discounted for less than $10 on Active GearUp.

Vaude Off Road Bag.

Again, I wanted something bigger for longer rides to store my lunch in, along with my extra tube, first aid kit and my other stuff. This pack attaches to the back of the bike on the seat post which is nice since I didn’t have to install a rear rack. Another discounted find on Active.

Camelbak Mini Mule.

I got this camelbak when I first started long distance running back in 2010. I hate wearing it running, so now I just wear it biking! It doesn’t hold as much water as I’d like (50oz), but it does the trick as long as I have another water bottle handy.

Timbuk2 Light Bright Rear Seat Pack.

Another discounted find! I love Timbuk2’s gear–it is so durable! I have a laptop bag that I love, too. But this pack has a giant reflector on the back so that’s nice. It holds my essentials: my bike lock, multi-tool, and patch kit. It also has a holster for a cellphone.

Sigma Bike Speedometer.

This bike computer was a cheap find, around $13 on amazon. It’s not wireless so it had to be connected, and I just had the techs do it for me at the Downtube for about $11.

Topeak Peakini II Mini Pump.

Always good to have a pump with you. Mine attaches underneath the water bottle cage.

Bike Mirror.

One of the BEST decisions I made was getting this bike mirror! I got it at EMS and Chris installed it–it is great, especially for commuting.

My most favorite accessory is the BV light set because I do use my bike at all times. It puts a light on the rear instead of reflectors and a very usable flashlight on the front that I’ve used for more than night riding. I think I will look into the Signs Bike speedometer you mentioned. I like its simplistic style.

There are a lot of high quality bike accessories available for a cheap price. Mirrors and Vaude bag are a personal favorite for me. They make life simple and safe.
