Another New World Rave Review

Good morning! Chris and I are almost settled into our new place–still have some boxes to get rid of and I still have to hang up my picture frames–but other than that it’s almost ready! As soon as it looks normal I’ll post some pictures for you all. I’m in love with the apartment! And its great having someone to come to, too. 🙂

Sunday night we cooked dinner in our new kitchen for Chris’ parents. (They were here from Pittsburgh to help him move.)

But Saturday night we all went out to dinner in Albany–Chris and I brought them to New World Bistro, our favorite restaurant here. And yes, they loved it just as much as we did.

Chris and I split the seitan wings for an app. I didn’t want anything too spicy so we got a light sauce with it–unfortunately I can’t remember what kind of sauce it was. It was really thin and added just a small bit of flavor to the “wings”. They were also served with some chopped pineapple. The wings themselves were nice and crispy! Yum.

Going with the seitan theme here for my meal I got the sandwich with marinara sauce on a roll.

The sandwich was amazing! The side I picked was the featured vegetable, which happened to be parsnips. The parsnips were so different, especially featured at a restaurant…but not surprising since they really focus on local and seasonal food here. They were good and gave the meal an interesting twist! The only minor gripe I had was that the server said my sandwich came with cheese but I didn’t have any on it..that was a bit disappointing, too. For some reason I can never send food back (unless it is absolutely horrible or has hair on it or something) but for something that minor I just let it slide.  The sandwich would have been great with or without cheese.

Now time for dessert! I got the ice cream sandwich of the day–vanilla ice cream between two heavenly chocolate cookies…amazing! There was also a banana sauce on top, which tasted great. Usually I find banana flavored things over-powering, sometimes they can ruin food for me…but this was just right. The banana flavor was light and cinnamonny…very good. New World does desserts so well–especially the ice cream sandwich!

One of the best desserts I ever had was here after my first half marathon. I still think about that ice cream sandwich to this day.

Chris got the steak for his dinner and he said it was one of the best steaks he’s ever had! He loves his steak. 🙂

We had such a good meal at New World. We just can’t rave enough about this place. We love it!
