Girls Night in Troy
Last night my sister and a few friends and I met for dinner and drinks in Troy. It was also Troy Night Out so that was a bonus! We had dinner at Illium Cafe! Dinner was very tasty, even if service was a tad slow. I got a glass of Malbec and ordered the vegetarian pad thai with tofu. The wine was very tasty–I really like reds lately. The pad thai was made with rice noodles and had peanut sauce–very good! It wasn’t too heavy of a dish either, which was nice. After dinner we went into one of the photography shops and looked around just for fun, then headed…

My 27th Birthday Roadtrip
Yesterday was my 27th Birthday! Holy crap. I spent the most of the day (eight hours) in the car, driving to Pittsburgh with Chris. It actually wasn’t that bad! It went by fairly quick. Pretty, no? Anyway, we got in town at around 5:30 and decided to go for a walk around Chris’ parents neighborhood to stretch our legs. We ended up stopping at a place for a birthday treat! The Cake and Cookie Spot had just opened recently and they had cute little cake shots! It was something I’ve never seen before so Chris and I got three to share. Chris got Oreo, I got the peanut butter cup,…

Pride of New York Harvest Fest
How perfect, especially during my Green Challenge, that this weekend there was a Pride of New York Harvest Festival going on at the Empire State Plaza. And the best part: I was able to attend thanks to All Over Albany! I won two free tickets to the event! 🙂 Chris, Chris’ roommate, and their friend from out of town all came with me to this awesome festival. There were so many vendors at the festival, including dozens of New York wineries, a few breweries, and tons and tons other New York farms, orchards, and other food producers. It was glorious! We also got our free wine glass with admission–for all…

A Rainy Day in Boston
Well, its Monday again! And yesterday Chris and I spent a nice (but rainy) day in Boston, MA. 🙂 We drove down in the morning and got there at around 1:00PM (just in time for lunch). Chris wanted to drive to there (it’s only a three hour drive from Albany) to meet up with his cousin, who was on vacation in Boston for a week. Before we had to meet up with him, Chris and I walked from Beacon Hill (where we parked) down to the Faneuil Hall to check out the sights and scout out a good place for lunch. There were so many places to choose from! We…

Summer in the City – Day 2: Zen Palate and American Idiot
Previous Parts: Part 1 Summer in the City – Day 1: Pancakes, Wine & Cupcakes Part 2 Summer in the City – Day 1: Drinks at Macondo and the Spinto Band Part 3 Summer in the City – Day 2: Kiss-In, Lush & Whole Foods Lunch —- Saturday evening brought dinner along with a show on Broadway. How exciting! I’ve only seen a few shows on Broadway, and they’re always an exciting experience. But before I get into that, let’s have a talk about dinner. I picked out the restaurant Zen Palate, in the Theater District because it was 1) close to the hotel, 2)close to the theater and 3)…
