    Pre-Race Jitters

Today I have been a bundle of energy in preparation for tomorrow’s big race!! I couldn’t even sleep in this morning, which I wanted to do so badly! I got up at 6:30 am and cleaned my room! Ha! I definitely have a case of the pre-race jitters. And then I had breakfast, raw oats + chobani yogurt + dried berries. I love these. They go perfect in oatmeal and yogurt messes! Yum! However, it hardly held me over through yoga this morning! I took another free class at the Breathing Room this morning, and this time it was jam packed with people! It was great. I really need to…

    8 Miles and Done

This morning I had to do another long run, 7-8 miles. My goal was to go out and run seven, possibly eight if I was feeling up to it. I was feeling a bit unmotivated to get going, but eventually I made it out there at around 9:00. But first, fuel! I had a bagel thin + almond butter + banana with some water. Oats, Glorious Oats

Someone recently told me I should write a post all about OATS. As many of you are probably aware, oats are a pretty much a staple food in the Healthy Living Blog community. But for those of you who are new to this, I decided to write a post all about one of my favorite foods…OATS!!! Until I discovered the blog world, to me, all oatmeal was were tiny packets, that came in boxes like this: And then I finally saw the light! There is certainly nothing wrong with pre-packaged instant oatmeal, it is still healthy, but I since discovering real oatmeal, I love it so much more! There are…

    Smoothie Sunday

Sunday was sort of a relaxing day. Eventually I motivated myself to get out the door and go for a run. I had originally wanted to do a long run, but once I got outside that thought quickly diminished. It wasn’t too sunny outside, but the humidity was unbearable. I struggled through four miles with some walking breaks, and it took me 42 minutes. I ran on my road, which is mostly just a highway that runs through the country, complete with grassy fields…and for some reason I could feel myself breathing in the pollen, which is one of the reasons my run was so uncomfortable. After my run, I…
