    2013 Stockade-athon 15K

Today was such a good day! This morning was the Stockade-athon, one of my favorite local races. Actually, I think it might be my favorite local race. And Its one of the only times I ever go to Schenectady…ha! Almost every runner I know ran today, too, so it was pretty cool running into all my friends at the race! Chris and myself My last long run for this race was actually the Hairy Gorilla Half two weeks ago! But, I did get some decent weekday running workouts in these past few weeks, so I had a goal, to run the 15K under 1:30. My 15K PR is 1:26 something,…

    Spectating My First Race

In the past 3 years I’ve been running, I’ve ran 44 races. That is CRAZY. And in all that time I have never spectated a race! Well, today that changed. My friend Caitlyn ran the Joann & Nancy 5K Race for Early Detection in Central Park in Schenectady today and I went a long to watch her run and cheer on the other runners! I went to the starting line with her and watched them take off! GO Caitlyn! I walked to the other side of the park and caught them running around the lake. Here comes Caitlyn, running strong! Then I waited at the finish line and saw the…

    The Stockade-athon 15K

Another Sunday, another race in the books and another race bib to add the collection! This morning Chris and I got up bright and early to go pick up Heather. Heather was supposed to run the 15K with us, but she fell and got injured a few weeks ago, so she stayed on the sidelines and spectated for us! 🙂 Thanks for the support Heather, you’re amazing! (Heather was also my personal photographer on the course!) Love her awesome sign?? I do! 🙂 Anyway, the race started at 9AM sharp, and it was COLD. We waited around at the start for about 30 minutes and tried to get warm by…

    Muddy Cup Meet-Up

Good morning bloggies. Last night I met up with a few of the ladies from the CDNY Eat Drink Blog community at Muddy Cup in Schenectady. Heather, Rebecca, Lauren, Cynthia and I met up for a night of blog discussion! Julie even participated through gchat with Heather! (I love technology.) We talked about a lot of things, like goals for our blogs, resources for blog improvement, etc. I learn so much from these girls every time I meet up. I’m going to start making a list of goals for my blog and start working on ways to improve it. We had our own little quiet area for discussion and blogging…

    Dinner at Aperitivo Bistro

As promised, here is part one of my Saturday adventures. Last night, Chris and I decided to go to Aperitivo Bistro in Schenectady before the Hellions of Troy Roller Derby bout. Aperitivo is described as an Italian Fusion restaurant! We thought since it was Saturday evening that we might need reservations, so I made them online on their website for 5:00PM…but it turned out that Aperitivo opens at 5:00PM, so we didn’t really need them, as there weren’t many people in the restaurant. I really liked the atmosphere though, and Chris mentioned how he liked the color scheme. It was nice! The blue lights hanging from the ceiling added a…
