Tour of the Indian River Lagoon

This morning Chris and I did something touristy. We went on a River Cruise a few miles away from my parents’ house. The cruise advertised dolphin and manatee sightings so we wanted to check it out to see some of Florida’s wildlife. The weather was perfect for a boat ride! Here are a few photos from the cruise. And yes, we did see a lot of bottlenose dolphins! And LOTS of birds…mostly pelicans. And an osprey too. The manatees must have been hiding….but it was still an awesome boat ride…perfect for relaxing and taking in the scenery. After the cruise, it was right about lunch time so we went back…

    Conference Day

Saturday was the the conference portion of the Healthy Living Summit! But before we could learn all we could about blogging, my roommate Liz and I had planned on running the 5AM long run with a group of other bloggers (like 20 of us!) I was planning on 10 miles but didn’t make it. I turned around at mile 4.2 because my stomach started hurting and ran/walk the rest of the way back…after nearly getting lost! Fourth of July 2010 – Part 1: Pig Roast

Holy crap, what a busy weekend! I was so busy, in fact, I have to split this weekend’s post into two different parts! Hope everyone else had a fantastic fourth of July! I know I did! 😀 Saturday, my family and I were invited to a Pig Roast/BBQ Cookout to celebrate July 4th. It was a huge party, with 80+ people attending! The party was at my cousins’ house and they had a whole tiki theme going on, which was so cute! And they had tons of food, like you wouldn’t believe. The main attraction was a whole pig on a spit, but since I don’t eat meat, I didn’t…

Sunday Adventures in Woodstock – Take 2

Ok, so, since I lost every post I’ve made, I feel like I should at least try to make up some. I feel like my last post about my trip to Woodstock was great and I want to try to write it up again for those who might have missed out. So here’s the shortened version, with pictures! Sunday my sister, and my friend Brendan and I decided to go hiking in Woodstock, NY for the day! Before our hike we stopped at a natural foods store in the village called Sunflower Natural Foods. It was so cute! It reminded me of the HWFC in Albany, but more hippyish! I…
