44 Miles on the Great Allegheny Passage
Saturday, our last full day in Pittsburgh, Chris, his parents and I cycled from Downtown Pittsburgh to Boston, PA on the Great Allegheny Passage. We rented hybrid bikes from Golden Triangle Bike Rentals. After riding 22 miles to Boston, PA, we stopped for lunch! Then we turned around and rode back. Here are some photos! Indian, Ice Cream and Dinosaurs
I’m back from Pittsburgh, bummer! Yesterday Chris and I drove home from there, but I still have yet to recap a few of our days. Let’s go back to Friday. Friday morning Chris had a dentist appointment (exciting), so after that we met his cousin Laura for lunch at Tamarind Flavor of India Restaurant in Oakland. They had a sweet lunch buffet, too so that was exciting. Everything was so flavorful and delicious! The naan was soft but crispy on the outside, which I liked. Both of the vegetable dishes were excellent. There was also this sweet mango-ish drink we had. It was interesting but very good. After lunch the…

Vacation in Pittsburgh
Hello from Pittsburgh! Chris and I drove down from Albany on Wednesday morning. We got here at about 4:30 yesterday. One of the first things we did was make a pit stop to Primanti’s restaurant when we were about an hour outside of Pittsburgh. It was kind of random because we only got off the exit to switch drivers and there it was! We were both really hungry anyway so it worked out! I tried the fish and cheese sandwich. Huge just like I remember from last time! They serve the sandwiches with fries and coleslaw ON the sandwich. I could only eat half of mine and Chris gladly ate…

A Cupcake at Dozen
This is the last post about my trip to Pittsburgh, I swear! Play catch up: Post-Race Adult Milkshakes 2012 Pittsburgh Half Marathon Church Brew Works A Delicious Vegetarian Lunch My 27th Birthday Roadtrip I just want to mention one last thing: a delicious cupcake I had on Saturday the day before the race. Chris and I took a walk to Dozen Bakery in Oakland. It was a very small shop, with no place to sit. Kind of sad since I wanted to sit down & enjoy my cupcake! Anyway, I got the Elvis, a banana cupcake with chocolate buttercream filling & peanut butter frosting. Yessss. It was a tasty cupcake!…

Post-Race Adult Milkshakes
After our half marathon on Sunday, Chris, his parents and I went to BRGR, a restaurant in Pittsburgh for our post-race lunch! At least I changed before we went to lunch! Anyway, I had heard about the spiked shakes at BRGR and was thinking about how a cold milk shake would taste great after such a grueling race. I ordered the salted pretzel caramel milkshake, which was spiked with rum. I think it kept me full for two days. But it was so worth it! My lunch was the santa fe hippie burger–falafel on a bun. It was good, but the milkshake was so filling I only ate half and…
