Brown and Five Mile Mountain – Tongue Mountain Range
On Saturday I took my good friend Sarah on a hike near Lake George. I hiked with her for the first time back in 2008 when I was first getting into shape and we hiked Sleeping Beauty together–it has been nearly six years since we did that hike! I wanted to do an easy hike on Saturday because I still had to do my long run on Sunday, so I picked part of the Tongue Mountain Range–the trail to Five Mile Mountain. The book of day hikes that I have boasted that this hike had amazing views. About 3 miles into the hike I deemed it the book of lies.…

Adirondack Ragnar Relay
Its official. We’re Ragnarians! Team B.A.D. started off in Saratoga Springs at 8:00 Friday morning! Melissa, our team captain, started out the 192.7 mile relay with her first leg in Saratoga. Yes, it was raining…for the whole day on Friday. Anyway, our van (van 1) was first to go, meaning we had the earlier start. We each ran our legs until We got to the the first major exchange to let van 2 take the lead. Look who was working at the exchange in Saratoga! Alicia! She was awesome for coming out in the rain as one of our Team’s volunteers. My leg was the 5th leg and I ran…

Firecracker 4 Mile Race and the Fourth of July
Hope everyone had a great Fourth of July holiday! Yesterday I was so busy I didn’t even have time to write my race recap! My July Fourth holiday started in Saratoga Springs for the Firecracker 4 Mile Race. I ran this race two years ago with Chris and knew it would be fun so we both decided to run it again! It was super hot yesterday morning, though. I only really had one goal for this race: beat my previous time of 37:59. I was pretty skeptical that I could do it since it was a lot hotter this time around and I haven’t been doing any speed training at…

Camping Out
After running our hearts out during the half marathon, Chris and I went back to Hearthstone Campground where our camp was set up! Our friends Katie and Stefan were joining us Saturday at the campground. While they set up their tent Chris and I headed to the showers, then it was time to hang out! We decided to go into the Lake George Village for some food. We went to Adirondack Pub & Brewery! Chris and I ate here once last year, so we knew we’d enjoy the good beer. I chose their Belgian White Peach. Yum!! We all got something different! There were not many healthy options on the…

Camp Chingachgook Challenge Half Marathon
After a few days without access to technology, I’m back!! And I have a third half marathon under my belt. My third, yet slowest half took place in the Adirondacks in Lake George, New York. Friday night Chris and I headed up to Hearthstone Campground and pitched our tent. We went to bed pretty early, and woke up at 5:00am to head to Camp Chingachgook, a YMCA camp on the Lake. We ended up parking at the finish and getting a bus to start so we could have all our gear right at the finish line. Good idea! We had about an hour to kill at the starting line, which…
