    A Blessing in Disguise?

I was a bit sad today after the Squirrelly Six and Hairy Gorilla Half got canceled yesterday due to inclimate weather. I had so much fun running that race last year and was looking forward to it. When I got up this morning the snow had melted (thank Goodness – I don’t think I could have dealt with that yet.) But the cancelation was probably a blessing in disguise. On Friday night after work I went for a run which ended up being amazing–the temperature was perfect and I felt great. I ran 3.5 miles around my neighborhood at 9:17/mile pace. When I got back I felt fine. I took…

    Fun with the Food Processor

So, last weekend I made hummus for the football game. It turned out so good, I wanted to make it again for myself! I used a simple, fail proof recipe found on Serious Eats.    It came out creamy, the perfect texture for hummus! I think I like home made hummus better than the store kinds! This one is so good. You need to make it, stat! I love dipping baby carrots or sliced peppers in hummus. Its so healthy too. ~~~ This morning I was debating on if I wanted a smoothie or oats for breakfast. Oats won! In the mix: Bob’s red mill five grain hot cereal 2…

On the days when I have class or have plans with a friend after work, I sometimes don’t get home until 9 or 10 PM, leaving me little time to get things done (dishes, laundry, blogging, etc.) So, I’ve decided recently to get up a half hour earlier each day to leave me more time in the morning to take my time and enjoy breakfast, check e-mail, and so on. I’m on day 3 of this and so far its…

    Homemade Pizza and MRI Results

Homemade pizza is one of my favorite foods. Actually, all types of pizza are. But I love making it at home and its sooo easy to do. Chris and I first made pizza together on new years eve 2009..and it was pretty much a disaster. We got a pizza stone for the occasion, from Hannaford, and when it came out of the oven, the crust ended up sticking to it. The pizza was just barely salvaged. We ate it, anyway. Lesson learned: don’t buy a pizza stone at Hannaford. But now we’ve wised up and we use a baking sheet. We made some plain cheese pizza last night, using the…
