    Scenes from Florida

Greetings from Florida! I’m on my annual Florida vacation at my parents, spending a week relaxing down here before the semester starts next week. So far I’ve gone to the beach (on Saturday!) and went for a short trail run through one of the scrub sanctuaries near my parents’. Enjoy the photos! Kayaking on the St. Sebastian River

I almost forgot to post about my first time kayaking while in Florida. The pictures were on my digital camera and I didn’t bring the cord with me on vacation–so I nearly forgot. My parents were walking nearby so that was good. I ran 2 miles out and then 2  miles back. It was a 9 mile loop that I had originally wanted to run, but I figured it’d be too lonely and kind of scary to run that whole thing alone… I did end…

    Exploring Historic St. Augustine

Yesterday my parents and I drove to St. Augustine, about 2.5 hours up the coast of where I am. We came here once about 10 or so years ago but it was pouring rain so I’ve always wanted to go back and explore! St. Augustine is the oldest city in the country! It was pretty cool seeing the old streets and houses. But first things first, the San Sebastian Winery! First we sampled a bunch of wines. I think my favorite was a sweet white called Blanc Du Bois Reserve. I also really loved the Rose and the Vinter’s Red and the Vinter’s White. Most were sweet, which is my…
