    Valentine’s Dinner at Pump Station

I hope everyone had a great Valentine’s Day! Hope it was better than Grumpy Cat’s… Our V-day dinner was nice and low key. We went out right after work before the big crowds hit. Chris and I went to the Pump Station, one of our favorite local brewery/restaurants. I ordered the 10oz Bock, which was very tasty! I really like that they have the option of the smaller size, too, in case I didn’t end up liking it that much. Thankfully I liked it! Chris got the onion rings, which I’d never tried before. They are beer-battered and not overly fried, which I really liked! The crispy coating was…

    Weekend Happenings

So far I’ve had a pretty fun weekend! Friday night after work Chris and I met some friends for dinner at one of our favorite places, the Albany Pump Station! We split the nachos for an appetizer but for dinner I went with something new, the lobster sandwich. I had never seen it on the menu before so I wanted to give it a try. Usually I get the veggie wrap but didn’t see it! I hope they didn’t get rid of it… Anyway, the sandwich came on a croissant which was a unique touch, it was good! There were some decent sized chunks of lobster in there. The menu…

    Tour at Albany Distilling Co.

Saturday during our brief little snow storm, my sister, her boyfriend Brian and I braved the elements to the Albany Distilling Company in downtown Albany. We got a tour of the distillery, which is pretty small, but it was really interesting. They get all their grains for producing the spirits from local NY State farms! This thing was cool–all the grains go into this thing and turns them into a porrige-like consistency before the distillation process. And then the good stuff comes out of here eventually. After the tour we got to sample some whiskey–the Coal Yard, an unaged whiskey, which was clear and looks like vodka! And the darker…

    Easter Brunch at Pump Station

Sunday Chris and I had Easter brunch plans with a few of our friends at the Albany Pump Station! Chris found out about the all you can eat brunch buffet via facebook and jumped on it.  Of course we all know how much I love brunch. The buffet was $20 and included non-alcoholic drinks. You could order from the bar if you wanted a beer or mimosa (like I did) or the server would bring you a drink. There was a lot to choose from: I went for the eggplant lasagna, which was delicious. Also, I had some eggs, home fries, fruit and roasted vegetables. And of course, there was…

    Cycling the Tour de Habitat

Hi friends. Its been a super busy weekend. Finally I have some time to sit down and tell you about it! Today was the Tour de Habitat, the cycling even for charity. This being my first biking event, I had no idea what to expect or how many people were going to be out there biking. Chris, myself, and our friends Caitlyn and Rob were signed up for the 25 mile portion which starts at the Pump Station in Albany, goes 15 miles to the town of Feura Bush and then back. There were not that many cyclists in this ride today…I was pretty surprised. Hi Caitlyn! When we checked…
