Hiking Sleeping Beauty – 12.30.18

A few weeks ago my sister and dad joined me for a hike up Sleeping Beauty, a popular mountain near Lake George, and a part of the fairly new “Lake George 12ster Challenge”. I’ve hiked it a few times already, the first being a little over 10 years ago as my very first ADK hike, as well as my very first solo hike. It holds a special place in my heart! On Sunday I got to share it with part of my family!

I love Sleeping Beauty because it was my very first Adirondack hike over ten years ago. There are a few trail options for this hike. We chose the quick, direct route up to the summit. There are a few switch-backs making it at a pretty easy climb. After a few hours of hiking at a casual pace, we arrived!

It was overcast but there were still some really great views from the top.

I was very happy to have experienced this special hike with my sister and Dad. What a nice day in the mountains! We cut it close by starting a little late but were off the trail right before dark. We had hot cocoa waiting for us in the car, which made a nice end to a fun day.
