Epic MTB Adventure in NH
Back in October, a few of my girlfriends and I booked a weekend mountain biking getaway to New Hampshire. Jordan and I discovered the Green Woodlands trails while up in NH for a ski weekend. A local on the lift at Ragged Mountain told us about some pretty epic privately owned mtb trails called Green Woodlands. After discussing with the girls, we decided it would be a great place to have a girl’s getaway to do some riding! We booked a small, rustic cabin in Dorchester, not too far from the trail system.
Mid-October just happened to be peak foliage up in NH. It was incredible!
The mountain bike trails were very well maintained. Most of them are non-technical but still have awesome features like berms. Even though there was a lot of climbing involved, the descents were flowy and totally worth all the climbing.
The views were spectacular, too!
During the middle of our ride on the first day, we came across D Acres — a not-for-profit Permaculture Farm and Educational Homestead complete with mountain bike trails that connect to Green Woodlands. They also offer home-cooked lunch and dinner, along with tent sites and rooms for rent.
We stopped for a brief lunch, explored the farm and made an alpaca friend.

Day 2 was just as awesome! I rode with the girls in the morning, but I cut my ride short so I could head back and get home at a reasonable hour since it was a 5 hour drive.
Day 2
Distance: 9 miles
Elevation: 1,131′
