2014 Trail Running Camp at Dippikill

This past weekend I finally participated in something I’ve been wanting to do for a while–but couldn’t for various reasons–the ARE’s Trail Running Camp! TRC is a three night getaway at Camp Dippikill in the Adirondacks for runners who want to learn more about/experience some trail running. It’s open to runners of all abilities and is pretty much a guaranteed fun time. Thursday night I arrived at around 4:45 on Thursday night, checked in and got my bib for the evening’s run, along with our handbook and our Frog. The theme of camp is Frogs–because of the Froggy Five Mile Race held on Sunday. Frogs were everywhere! I was staying…

    The No-Running Update

Today will mark three weeks since the Vermont City Marathon, and three weeks since I last ran. The absence of running also means lack of blog content, so this is why there have been minimal blog posts lately. I’m a firm believer if I don’t have anything worth writing about, to not write anything at all. But I figured I’d post an update about my lack of running. No running has given me more time for a lot of other workouts! And also time for relaxing on Saturday mornings. ๐Ÿ˜€ Hot Yoga I’ve been going to a Hot Flexibility Flow once a week. I love this class. It’s perfect for…

    Return to Hot Yoga

As part of marathon training, I’m trying to be more vigilant about stretching and cross training. I really need to make yoga a regular thing. But sometimes I get in the habit of tossing it aside when I’ve already done my workout for the day and would rather stay on the couch instead of go to the gym. I decided to try a new-to-me yoga studio in Albany, the Hot Yoga Spot! I did like my other studio, the Good Karma Studio, but I wanted to try something different and heard good things about Hot Yoga Spot. They have a wider range of classes that work better with my schedule,…

    Weekend Happenings

First off, Happy Father’s Day to my Dad! Later this afternoon we’re picking up a Pizza from one of my Dad’s favorite pizza places and heading over to my parents to celebrate. Hope you’re having a great Dad’s Day so far. ๐Ÿ™‚ Friday night Chris and I decided to put our CSA veggies to use and made a pizza. I whipped up some dough on Thursday night and had it ready to go for Friday when we got home. We got spinach in our CSA box this week–and it was delicious. It was so fresh and flavorful, better than any spinach I’ve ever tasted! We made huge bowls of spinach…
