    Life Lately

Studying the anatomy of the heart for a&p II. Made vegetarian chili (black bean & butternut squash) in a dutch oven that we’ve had for a year and never used until last night! Unfortunately I used cayenne pepper instead of chili pepper and it was so spicy I couldn’t even eat it. Chris now has a whole pot of chili to eat this weekend. Went for a nice 5 mile run this week–and the sun was out for it! Retired my Brooks Adrenalines that I ran for 270 miles of marathon training. Now I’m running in a shiny new pair for this training cycle.

    Lack of Running

This past weekend was the first in a long time where I did no running at all–actually, no working out at all. Friday I got hit with some kind of monster cold/mini flu like thing and it had me feeling crappy until yesterday. I ran a whopping 9 miles last week, and even when I was running, my runs felt like crap. After four days off, I finally decided to run on the treadmill last night after work, but only made it about 2.3 miles. Running Shoe Dilemma, Solved!

In mid-April I wrote a post about how I was having major running shoe issues. In short, the shoes I was running in were hurting my feet during long runs. I ended up getting the New Balance 890s (a light weight neutral shoe) and they were not good for long runs, so I needed a good pair for my runs over five miles. I think the problem has been solved! I’m still running short runs (under five miles) in my New Balance 890s. They are comfy and I’m loving them! (source) But, I ended up buying the upgraded version of my beloved 760s (now 860s) and they seem to be…

    The Running Shoe Dilemma

Hope you all are having  a great Wednesday. Today is a bit dreary outside, but at least its not freezing cold today. I’m really excited for warm weather and sunshine, whenever that will be! My posts for the next few weeks are going to be a bit sporadic, so bear with me! I’m going to be super busy with school, work, and other things, and things are going to be hectic! First, I’m going to share with you my workout from last night. I headed to the gym after work since I wasn’t feeling the weather (dreary + wet), and ran a short 2.0 mile run on the treadmill in 19…
