Copra Raw Coconut Water Review
Copra Coconut Water recently reached out to me to try some of their coconut water! By now, most of us are familiar with this beverage. Coconut water has been increasing in popularity these past few years, but Copra is trying to stand out from the crowd–it’s raw and all natural! This is new to me because I don’t normally buy the drink, so I wasn’t aware there was a raw version of it. What’s the difference between raw and regular coconut water, you may ask? The main difference is that Copra raw coconut water: Is not heated or pasteurized. Normally pasteurization is used to kill/prevent bacteria growth and increase shelf-life…

Laurie’s Granola Review
A few weeks ago I was contacted by Laurie and Amanda of Laurie’s Granola Creations to try out some of their home made granola! They are based out of Farmingdale, NY and currently sell their granola in a few mom and pop stores and a few farmer’s markets on Long Island. Since I’m all for supporting New York businesses (especially a small one just getting started!) I jumped on the chance to review the granola. I brought a pack to munch on during the drive down to the Catskills this past weekend–a perfect pre-hike snack if you ask me! (But really, I’ll eat granola whenever, who am I kidding.) I…

What to Wear Snowshoeing
One of my favorite sayings this winter has been “There’s no bad weather, just inappropriate clothing” which is pretty true. This winter has been the coldest that I can remember, and it has been much more bearable with the right clothing and gear. I spent a fair amount of dollars this season investing in good winter gear because I want to enjoy the season and the gear will last for many winters to come. Here is a list of some of my favorite winter items for snowshoeing, hiking, and gallivanting in the snow. Columbia Snowcalpse Insulated Waterproof Jacket I knew when I wanted to start winter hiking and snowshoeing I…

Cheribundi Smoothie Pack Review
Saturday morning (or mid-morning…I didn’t go out until around noon) I went for a run. I usually take a few days off from running before a weekend long run, but this time it was on tired legs. I ran 8.6 miles on Thanksgiving and a 3 mile run on Friday since I took the day off from work and it was nice out. I decided to do my long run on Saturday anyway. My run was much more slower than my long runs have been (I ran my super hilly route I did a lot during marathon training) and it was cold. But when I was done I was actually…

Jillian Michaels’ Shred It With Weights Workout Video Review
It’s been a long time since I wrote a workout video review, so here you go! I’m a big fan of Jillian Michaels’ workout DVDs (when I actually do them…I have a hard time getting motivated to do workout videos at home) and this one is one of my new favorites, Shred it With Weights. I bought the video on Amazon Prime for $8.00, which is the streaming version, so its easy to just load up Amazon video and do it. So far I’ve done it twice, and I liked it each time. The Level 1 video is 30 minutes long and includes basic kettlebell moves. I bought a kettlebell…
