    When Things Don’t Go As Planned

    I’m feeling pretty down about marathon training lately. Right now I’m supposed to be deep in training, running 30+ miles a week, running strong and getting faster. Instead, I’m behind on my long runs and struggling to get through my week day runs. Lately my left calf has been bothering me. I’m assuming its because since my right foot has been fighting PF, my left leg is making up for it. I attempted a run last night but instead of struggling through five miles, I stopped after a half a mile and opted for a stretch session of a warm vinyasa yoga class, which was probably a really great decision.…

    Albany Pine Bush Trail Run

    The weather last night was pretty nice (60 degrees!), so my friend Laura and I decided to go for a run together. We decided on the Pine Bush Preserve. The area we went to was by the Rensselaer Lake. There are tons of trails and there even a little pond for fishing. There is another portion of the Pine Bush a few minutes away, which we want to try running at next time. We ran a 3.1 mile loop around the Preserve.     Last week’s schedule Monday – Hot Yoga actual: 45 min strength Tuesday – 3 mi actual: 3 mi run + bikram-style yoga Wednesday – 6 mi actual: 1.2 mi run + 30 min bike Thursday – Spin actual: 5.3 mi run Friday – Rest Saturday – 16 mi actual: 15.78 mi run Sunday – Strength actual: yoga + 2 mi walk I’d say last week was a pretty good week for training. Thursday night was gorgeous, so a co-worker and I decided to meet for a run after work down at the Corning Preserve Bike Path. We did about 5.3 miles total, which was nice! I can’t wait for more…
