Firecracker 4 Mile Race and the Fourth of July

Hope everyone had a great Fourth of July holiday! Yesterday I was so busy I didn’t even have time to write my race recap! My July Fourth holiday started in Saratoga Springs for the Firecracker 4 Mile Race. I ran this race two years ago with Chris and knew it would be fun so we both decided to run it again! It was super hot yesterday morning, though.  I only really had one goal for this race: beat my previous time of 37:59. I was pretty skeptical that I could do it since it was a lot hotter this time around and I haven’t been doing any speed training at…

    Easter Brunch at Pump Station

Sunday Chris and I had Easter brunch plans with a few of our friends at the Albany Pump Station! Chris found out about the all you can eat brunch buffet via facebook and jumped on it.  Of course we all know how much I love brunch. The buffet was $20 and included non-alcoholic drinks. You could order from the bar if you wanted a beer or mimosa (like I did) or the server would bring you a drink. There was a lot to choose from: I went for the eggplant lasagna, which was delicious. How I Celebrated St. Patty’s Day

Usually I’m working on Saint Patrick’s Day and after work my friends and I go to McGeary’s to have a drink under their tent. This year I happened to plan my vacation for my school’s spring break which happened to begin on Saint Patrick’s Day weekend, so it was a bit different this year. Saturday morning my parents, Chris and I headed over to Vero Beach, which was about a 20 minute drive from their house. They have a lovely farmer’s market we wanted to check out. It…

NYE Party at the Old English Pub

Ringing in 2012, in photos. My dinner – portabella mushrooms over lettuce topped with cheese & balsamic. Tasty but not satisfying. Dessert – chocolate cake with chocolate mousse filling and possibly a chocolate ganache. Very delicious and also satisfying. 🙂     Happy 2012!

    Random Christmas Ramblings

Good morning! I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! I sure did. It was nice to take a break from work and blogging (not that I blog much these days) for awhile and enjoy the time with my family! I worked most of the day on Christmas Eve but then after I got out I met my family over at my grandmas house. It was lovely! Christmas morning was spent at my parents where we all opened a bunch of lovely gifts. I’m so lucky, I got a lot of nice things, including a new iPod touch! My iPod died back in July and I’ve been using my little shuffle…
