    Goals for my 29th Year

    Today is my 29th birthday. The last year of my 20s! I can hardly believe it. I feel like it was just yesterday I was 18 and starting college. Its a big year for me! I have a lot going on this summer and fall and wanted to make a list of my current goals that I want to complete before I turn 3-0 next year. Finish the Northface Endurance Challenge.     2014 Race Goals

    I can’t believe that 2013 is almost over! It was pretty exciting on the racing front, though, I must say. I ran my second full marathon, the Vermont City Marathon, back in May. Even through it rained almost the whole race, it was still a great experience, and I set a PR! I also started hiking in 2013 and hiked 6 out of 46 Adirondack high peaks!     Embracing Winter

    Every year I usually complain about winter, but this year I’m going to try to change that. My new year’s resolution is to not complain about winter at all! I’m going to try to take advantage of this very long season we get. It may be cold, wet, and snowy but I’m finding things I like about it more and more and I’m determined to not hate winter anymore!     A Plan

    I’ve spent the past few months building a decent running base and I’m pretty happy with how things are progressing. I’ve been doing speedwork or tempo runs on the treadmill once a week for the past four months and I’ve been seeing solid results! (Results meaning decent race times). I’m now back to my pre-marathon pace of 9:30 average miles for most of my runs. However, I can’t seem to break the 9:20s. This is something I’m hoping to do this month. A half marathon with an average pace under 9:20 is my ultimate goal–with a few more solid weeks of training will hopefully get me there! I saw this…

    A Special Race

    Sunday is the Mohawk Hudson River Half Marathon (and full marathon). This race has  a special place in my heart since it was my very first half marathon three years ago today. I ran it on 10.10.10 and I knew that was a sign! This year it will be my 10th half marathon. This race opened the doors for me to long distance running. At the time I couldn’t believe I was running 13.1 miles. Back then I never though I’d run a full marathon, let alone two of them. I’ve achieved things I never though possible, met some amazing people, and found things within myself I never knew existed.…
