Ah, school. I’ve been out of college for five years now (how is this possible?) but technically I’m still a student! As I mentioned in the past, I decided to go back to school for nutrition. My ultimate goal is to become a Registered Dietitian. I was accepted into a nutrition program at a local college last year, but deferred my acceptance until Fall of 2013 so I can continue getting the pre-requisites out of the way.
Since the fall of 2010 I’ve taken: Intro to Psych, Intro to Nutrition Science, Accounting, General Chemistry and Microbiology. Within the next year I hope to squeeze four more courses in (while working full time, yikes) so I can start taking classes in the RD program in Fall of 2013. I’m taking this summer off from classes–it will probably be my last break for the next three to four years.
I’m pretty much starting from scratch because I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications (no sciences to be found except bio 100) — but I’m really looking forward to becoming a full time student again, even if I still have to still work my day job throughout.
Is there anyone out there in the same boat as me– Changing careers and going back to school? Any tips?
I’m nervous and excited at the same time. Its not for another year, but it will be here before I know it! I’m trying to plan ahead.
