Back in October my friend Caitlyn and I signed up to take a pottery class at Broken Mold Studio in Troy. I’m finally writing about it because today I picked up our finished products!
Anyway, I bought an online deal for a class for 2 at the studio and since I’ve been wanting to take a pottery class for a while I figured why not?

We each got a piece of clay and learned the basic techniques on how to “throw” the clay and use the foot petal to move the wheel.
We each made a little pot!

Mine is on the left and Caitlyn’s is on the right.

AND my finished product!

Its such a cute little bowl. I think I’m going to use it to store my jewelry in on my dresser…or I could even use it as candy bowl (but probably not since I don’t keep candy in my house, but the thought is nice).
I loved taking this class! Our teacher was great and she was very helpful! I would highly recommend taking a pottery class at Broken Mold if you get the chance. It is such a fun way to spend a few hours and you get to be creative.

That looks so fun! I’ve always wanted to learn how to use a pottery wheel. When I was little I always wanted a kid version of a pottery wheel that they always put in catalogs around Christmas time, but my parents refused to get it, saying it would be too messy. They were probably right
Your bowl is very cute!

Good job! Last year I took a pottery class at the Albany Art Room. It is not that easy.
Wow, I am impressed with your pottery skills! I took a class in tenth grade and I was so awful at it. I made this horrifying cat that I insist on putting out (still) because it is so ugly haha.
