Speaking of cravings, all of last week I was craving Pizza. A large part of that was due to All Over Albany’s current Tournament of Pizza. Every year the put on a contest to determine who in the Capital Region has the best pizza. Marisa’s Place in Guilderland made the Semi Finals. Chris and I had never been to Marisa’s and wanted to check out their pizza, so before Liz’ Art Show we went there for dinner.
We went with the Florentine, one of their specialty pizzas. The toppings included tomatos, spinach, artichoke, olive oil, mozzarella, and sun dried tomatoes! I’m a big fan of sun dried tomatoes on pizza so I was excited to try it.
We decided to wait for it there and just eat-in since we were starving! It took about 25 minutes and finally it came out piping hot from oven. 
One bite and I was in love! The toppings were fresh, flavorful and delicious. The sun dried tomatoes made it even better! The crust was perfect, too.
Sadly Marisa’s didn’t win the Albany bracket, but they were a winner in my eyes. The tournament finally has a winner, I’m still craving pizza, even at 8:00am.
I work within walking distance to Marisa’s, and, last year, a major catalyst for my need to drop lots of weight was being addicted to their pizza!
I was delighted that Marisa’s made it through the cheese and pepperoni rounds of the tournament of pizza. Things seemed to fall apart in the semi-finals, but it was this judge’s favorite that round.
I actually went back this past Saturday with my cousin who’s dad owns a pizzeria, and we chatted with the owner while munching on a pie.
